Wonderful! I learned much about Italy without reading a volume of history. What a heartfelt human story from the “boot” of Europe to the new world and the plight of its immigrants that made America great. Thank you, Danielle.

Dear Danielle,
A week ago, I received “How Do We Love?” book. Many thanks for the wonderful gift — Impressive, articulate, imaginative, thorough, piece of work! Danielle, the book represents a vibrant slice of immigrants’ life in America, the struggle to survive and achieve “The American Dream.”
Thank you for the warm message of what your “Papa” thought of me, and quoting me in the small fold card.
Although we met “Papa” for only a week, Dorothy and I quickly discovered the depth and range of his intellect — he was a lot of fun, and his wisdom surfaced often on that Caribbean Cruise.
You may have already thought of submitting “How Do We Love?” for awards. The thought popped in my mind also. I don’t know much about this matter, but I’m thinking of “National Book Award for Non-Fiction,” and why not “Pulitzer”? A book similar in theme to “How Do We Love?” is “Angela’s Ashes” which won the “Pulitzer,” and other awards.

Dear, dear Bill. Apologies for the delay in reply to your comment, I was in Italy when you sent this and only returned a few weeks ago. You honor me with your powerful, thoughtful words. For someone of your caliber of mind, creativity and spirit to even consider this work for those types of awards is beyond humbling. I am always grateful for you, for your words and thoughts, and for what you did for Papa, inspiring and facilitating his creativity as well. “The Scribblings of Neil Oliviero” and “A Time of Rome” would not have been released into the public universe if not for your encouragement, interest and promptings.
